Dermal Fillers Before & After
Benefits of Dermal Fillers
Youthful Appearance
Dermal fillers help restore volume to areas that may have lost fullness due to aging, such as the cheeks, under the eyes, and around the mouth. This results in a more youthful, refreshed look.
Smooths Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Fillers can fill in deep lines and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines) and marionette lines, providing a smoother skin surface.
Non-Surgical
Unlike facelifts or other surgical procedures, dermal fillers are a non-invasive solution, requiring no downtime, with results visible immediately after the procedure.
Natural-Looking Results
When applied correctly, dermal fillers can give a natural, youthful look without the "overdone" appearance.
Enhances Facial Contours
Fillers can be used to enhance facial features, such as the jawline, chin, or lips, providing more balanced and symmetrical contours.
Long Lasting Effects
Depending on the type of filler used, results can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, offering long-term improvements without constant upkeep.
Dermal Filler FAQs
How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?
Dermal fillers can last from 6 to 12 months, but the duration depends on where the fillers are placed. In areas such as your jawline, under-eye, or nose, dermal fillers can last anywhere from 9 to 12 months. Dermal filler in areas such as your lips generally don’t last as long because there is more muscle movement around the mouth. Dermal filler in the lips typically lasts 6 to 9 months.
Are Dermal Fillers Safe?
All of our injectable treatments are administered by Consultant Plastic Surgeons. Dermal fillers are generally considered safe when administered by a trained and experienced practitioner. However, as with any medical treatment, there are potential risks and side effects to be aware of.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. This can be injected into facial lines, folds, and tissues to restore facial volume that may decrease with age. Additionally, dermal fillers can be used to add structure to your face, such as the jawline or nose. Dermal fillers pose few risks or side effects. However, the most common side effects include bruising, swelling, and minor redness around the injected site. These usually resolve within the first 24 to 48 hours.
Can I Exercise After My Dermal Filler Treatment?
Post-treatment care is crucial to achieving the best results from dermal fillers. It is generally recommended to avoid vigorous exercise for at least 24 to 48 hours after the procedure. Exercise increases blood flow and can potentially cause the filler to move from its intended area, leading to suboptimal results. Additionally, sweating can introduce bacteria into the injection sites, increasing the risk of infection. Gentle activities like walking are usually fine, but it's best to follow the specific aftercare instructions provided by your aesthetic injector.
