The PicoSure Pro device uniquely delivers 755nm energy in picoseconds; the delivery is so quick that it spares the skin from high thermal damage while optimally targeting unwanted pigment, wrinkles, acne scars and pores with less downtime than traditional lasers.

PicoSure Pro uses primarily photomechanical action and delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses of energy. Energy is delivered so quickly (in a trillionth of a second) that it vibrates and shatters the unwanted pigment and tattoo ink into tiny sand particles that are more easily eliminated by the body’s natural detoxification system. This is a very different approach compared to traditional lasers, which use photothermal action; relying solely on heat to break up unwanted melanin. Less heat translates to less tissue damage and discomfort.

What to expect during a PicoSure Pro treatment?

On of our skin specialist's will first cleanse and numb the treatment area with a topical cream for 15 minutes to help minimize discomfort.The larger treatment areas are divided into quadrants using a white pencil to ensure the laser is distributed precisely, effectively and efficiently. During treatment, a slight snapping sound will be heard as the laser passes over the treatment area. Patients may feel some mild discomfort.

What Is The Downtime With Picosure Pro?

There is minimal to no downtime with PicoSure Pro treatment. Patients may experience temporary redness and swelling at the treatment site. The redness typically resolves itself in a couple of hours following procedure. Unwanted pigment may darken over the next 24 hours before fading away.

Who isn't a candidate for PicoSure Pro?

People with certain medical conditions or skin types may not be suitable candidates for PicoSure Pro. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with active skin infections or cold sores, or those taking medications that increase sensitivity to light may not be able to recieve this treatment.

How many PicoSure Pro treatments are needed?

The number of PicoSure Pro sessions required depends on the individual's skin condition and the area being treated. Generally, it takes 3-5 sessions for optimal results, but this may very. Treatments are usually scheduled 4-6 weeks apart to allow the skin to heal between sessions.

Can PicoSure Pro be used to remove tattoos?

Yes, PicoSure Pro is commonly used for tattoo removal. The laser targets the tattoo ink particles and breaks them down into smallerpieces that can be easily eliminated by the body's natural processes.
